On the Left Bank, north to Bordeaux are the deep gravel soils of Médoc, producing the world's most celebrated Cabernet Sauvignons blends in legendary appellations such as Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe.
Further south on the Left Bank is the Graves vineyard: Pessac-Léognan is the only appellation producing both world-class reds and whites, while Sauternes enchants with its extraordinary golden sweet wines, led by the mythical Château d'Yquem.
On the Right Bank, Merlot blends reign supreme. The limestone soils of Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage village, and the precious clay of Pomerol, home to the legendary Château Pétrus, produce wines of exceptional opulence and finesse.
